Fixed Term until 31 March 2025, in the first instance

We are looking for a Research Assistant to work within the Proteomics and Metabolomics core facility of the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh.


The Opportunity:


The post holder is expected to support and assist, the state-of-the-art mass spectrometry based analytical services to researchers based in the Roslin Institute, across the university and also to external collaborators and commercial partners.

The duties will include developing LC-MS and mass spectrometry imaging methods for qualitative and quantitative characterisation of small molecules and proteins from a variety of matrices including clinical samples, in addition to the day-to-day maintenance of advanced analytical instrumentations.

Training will be provided as necessary.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Prior experience in a bio analytical laboratory
  • Experience with protein and metabolite sample preparations for omics analysis
  • Experience with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometer
  • Expertise in data and image analysis
