As a member of the Delivery Lead community, you will work with one of our teams supporting the Pensions Market.

Your primary goal is to support your team to deliver value through agile ways of working.

Using your skills, you will help your team focus on the continual flow of customer value, helping them becoming more efficient and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the effective day to day running and maturity of agile practices in your delivery team.
  • Work with your delivery team to identify ways of solving problems like becoming more efficient and focussed on continual delivery of customer value with fast feedback cycles.
  • Help the team to manage workflow, identifying issues and working to ease blockers.
  • Understand how to use metrics and data to drive improvements, such as cycle time and throughput.
  • Pull business stakeholders towards your delivery team, building a shared understanding of problems to be solved and how to solve them.
  • Help your team promote asset health and inherent risk within their software stack with business stakeholders.
  • Ensure your team is happy, focussed, engaged, challenged, and enthused.
  • Collaborate on setting and delivery of quarterly cross team OKRs.
  • Support ongoing recruitment activity and influence decisions on team structure.
  • Support your team through times of change.
  • Ensure our software is of the highest quality, valuable and delivers functionality from as early in the development process as possible.
  • Manage risks and compliance in line with Hymans' policies and market regulations.
  • Be an ambassador for agile principles within the team and with business stakeholders and be comfortable coaching these principles.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Personal Characteristics Required:

  • A skilled agile/lean practitioner in a software development environment.
  • Able to coach one to one and teams.
  • Able to see a problem, step in and then step out when appropriate.
  • Excellent stakeholder relations, an influencer with great communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience of coaching teams to improve performance.
  • Passionate about people and their development.
  • Sufficient experience of software development & technologies to effectively facilitate decision making.
  • A highly motivated thinker with the ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • First class planning skills and ability to manage competing demands under pressure.
  • Understanding of DevOps culture and the benefits this approach provides.
  • Skilled at active listening and effective questioning to quickly get to the vital information.
  • An active member of the wider agile community meetup groups, blog posts etc.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:


  • Previous experience of people management.
