Working with one of the largest, richest and most diverse research collections in the world, you'll use your recent practical hands-on experience in the conservation of paper and books to carry out conservation and exhibition preparation treatments on a wide range of paper based collection items.


With a degree in conservation and a high level of manual dexterity, you'll diagnose conservation problems, develop and evaluate treatment and display options and liaise with conservation colleagues, curators, exhibition and loans staff to ensure the longevity, stability and accessibility of these prized assets.

You will be required to assess collections off-site and assist with exhibition installations.


Operating with mínimal supervision, you'll also demonstrate your ability to plan and manage your work to ensure that exhibitions deadlines are met.

Provide clear, detailed and accurate records of all treatments undertaken and exhibition details in accordance with professional conservation standards and frameworks.

Assist with managing the exhibition spreadsheets, conservation tracker and frame store.
