Location - Derby


Our client, who are one of the top 5 independent Chartered Insurances brokers in the country are recruiting for a highly ambitious Commercial Account Handler to join their specialist team based in Derby.


Summary


Supporting sales team with administration of prospective clients' insurance requirements on a daily basis including discovery fact finds, preparation of market presentations, broking exercises, preparation of summaries, sales reports and other new businessdocumentation, placement of risks, invoicing of premiums, assisting with onboarding requirements as well as assisting with cover reviews, cover solutions and formulating broking strategies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the new business team achieve and exceed new business targets by providing broking, technical and administrative support
  • Liaise effectively with the Account Executives to deliver appropriate sales strategies
  • Attend client and market meetings as necessary and action meeting points
  • Undertake market exercise to establish most competitive terms available
  • Obtain quotation terms and help prepare as required by Account Executive
  • Assist Account Executive in presentation of terms to client
  • Record all relevant information, correspondence and documentation on Acturis or other broking system and make effective use of the diary system
  • Process placements in line with procedures, including notification to insurers, issue of revised documentation, and collection of premium
  • Actively crosssell products from other Divisions
  • Assist Associate and Divisional Director as required

  • Excellent level of technical insurance skills, to be assessed by regular inhouse testing
  • Ability to process work quickly and efficiently

  • Excellent level of negotiation and broking skills
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding
  • Ability to persuade and influence others

Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in providing specialist advice in the insurance market
  • Qualified to a minimum of Cert CII preferred
