The starting salary for this role is £46,634 per annum for working 36 hours per week.

Surrey County Council's headquarters are based at Woodhatch Place in Reigate, however we care about how you work, rather than where you work and support an agile approach, with team members working from home for the majority of days.

Our Public Health Intelligence and Insight Team is here to help communities of identity and geography which are often overlooked and currently most at risk of experiencing poor health outcomes, using Surrey's Health and Well-being Strategy to inform ouraims.

About the role


In this role, you will provide specialist public health advice to improve the health and wellbeing of the population and reduce health inequalities in Surrey.


This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Analyst looking to take the next step in their career and have a real influence over the running of a strong, mid-sized analytics team.

You may come from a public health background, but you may alsobring transferable skills from elsewhere in the health and care system.


You will enjoy a variety of responsibilities as your work will be a blend of analysis, reporting, project management and line management, and will focus on a mix of geographical areas, population cohort groups and health and wellbeing issues.


You should look forward to collaborative working and developing partnerships with a range of stakeholders including those in the NHS, Local Authorities, and the Community and Voluntary Sector.

You will work with these key stakeholders to obtain, analyse,explain, and publish information which contributes to our understanding of factors that influence health and wellbeing, and health inequalities, in Surrey.


  • Passion for using analytics as evidence within needs assessments, healthrelated dashboards, or other public health/health statistics
  • Interest in, and support of, our scriptable and reproducible approach to data processing and intelligence reporting
  • Experience of using Tableau for data visualisation
  • Experience coaching, developing and supervising team members.
