Sportsafe offers installation, service and sales of sports and fitness equipment to more than 10,000 customers from the Shetland Isles to the South Coast in the including primary and secondary schools, private schools, sports centres, care homes and more than 120 county councils and fire, police and NHS authorities.

This accounts-based role will be assisting within our finance team.

In this role you will cover Accounts Payable and Sales invoicing and will include other areas of the Finance function.

Therefore, this role is ideal for someone who's looking to start a career within business Finance.


Responsibilities
The Apprentice Accounts Assistant will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:

  • Invoice sales orders upon receipt of notification of completion of work.
  • Management and data entry of all aspects of purchase ledger including validation of all purchase invoices, reconciliation of supplier statements, and supplier payment scheduling
  • Processing companywide credit card expenditure onto Access ensuring receipts are received for all expenditure.
  • Maintain accounts payable records and ensure filing is kept up to date.
  • To process Ecommerce orders on a rota system within Accounts team.
  • To assist with creation of new customer accounts on Access Dimensions.
  • Assisting with booking hotels for engineers as/when required.
  • To provide support and cover in any other area within the finance department.


The Finance team deliver outstanding support to our business and customers throughout the week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of :00, however flexibility to meet the needs of the business is essential and is especially true around month end.


The role will be fast paced but will be a great opportunity for someone keen to get onto the ladder within a Finance role to learn the fundamentals within a medium corporate business, working within a small close team to learn from as you work and study alongside an apprenticeship and the associated education and coursework towards the apprenticeship, so applicants must be aware this opportunity encompasses both the job role and separate study alongside, however you will be given time within working hours to complete apprenticeship work and tasks.

And the role is paid at the UK national apprenticeship hourly rate for the first 12 months.
