Summary
We are looking for a competent individual to join our team as a Sport Operations Lead. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all customers receive the best possible service.


As part of your role, you will be expected to carry out various duties such as point of sales tasks, manual tasks related to sports set ups, cleanliness, basic maintenance, and security.

You will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as membership admiration, children's course registry and mailbox management


To ensure the smooth running of operations, you will be expected to work evenings and weekends as part of a shift pattern on a monthly rota system.

You must possess excellent problem-solving skills and have the ability to respond calmly and professionally to incidents that may arise in activity areas, including customer relations, first aid, and emergency incidents.


As the Sport Operations Leader, you will be responsible for supervising and controlling activity areas and acting as the lead for centre operations when management cover is unavailable.

You must be able to clearly communicate any necessary actions that may need to be escalated.


You will also be required to manage and implement a regular process of checks for all sports facilities to ensure they are well-maintained and safe for use.

Any faults found during these checks should be reported to the Estates & Campus Services and the Senior Sport Operations team.

Job Details

  • To undertake specific duties to ensure that the highest quality service is always available to all customers
  • Lead the junior operations team to ensure that all staff are performing their duties and providing the best possible service
  • The post holder will be required to complete manual tasks relating to cleanliness, housekeeping, hygiene, safety, basic maintenance and security and maintain high standards in these areas
  • Carry out administrative duties as necessary, for example taking registers or recording any accidents or injuries
  • The post holder will be required to undertake morning, evening and weekend working as part of a shift pattern on a monthly rota system
  • The ability to respond calmly and professionally to incidents in activity areas including customer relations, first aid and emergency incidents
  • The Sport Operations Leader carries out a range of routine work which includes the ability to supervise and control activity areas
  • The Sport Operations Lead will act as the lead for centre operations when management cover is unavailable. They should have the ability to problem solve and clearly communicate any actions that may need to be escalated
  • Manage and implement a process of regular checks of all sports facilities to ensure they are well maintained and safe for use. Report faults to Estates & Campus Services and the Senior Sport Operations team.
