We currently have an opportunity for a Mortuary Assistant to join our Business Leader, Helen Griffiths,
and her dedicated team of funeral professionals within our Jenning's Funeral Directors, serving our communities across the West Midlands area.


This role will also offer great career development Working alongside our Embalmers, this role can offer you insight into a unique role and the chance to become a fully qualified Embalmer with us, should you wish to complete the BIE qualification in the future.


Hours are:
Monday - Friday (08:30 - 16:30).


What will the day-to-day look like?


As Mortuary Assistants, they deliver the highest standards of care to our clients, ensuring the efficient provision of deceased care and mortuary operations are completed.


They also:

  • Monitor coffin stock levels and assist with deliveries
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation and standards in coffin storage areas as well as preparing and dressing coffins.
  • Carry out engraving.
  • Support religious attendance of family requests.
  • Complete department and company training on a regular basis.
  • Develop excellent working relationships across all sites and areas of the business.
  • Ensure working areas are kept clean and wellmaintained at all times.

What do we look for?

  • Has a willingness to learn and potentially study towards their BIE in Embalming.
  • Proactive approach and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Comfortable coming into contact with the deceased.
  • Presentable always, acting with professional conduct and showing empathy.
  • PC Literacy strong skills when using a computer and Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • A passion for customer service.
  • A Full UK Driving Licence would be needed due to some travel in the local area.
