Job Purpose


Ability to handle the daily end to end process of international shipping including working knowledge of the logistics involved in shipping hazardous goods, predominantly goods containing Lithium, whether contained in equipment or not.


Comfortable with advising internal and external stakeholders with the requirements of despatching goods including shipping quotes, customs requirements, package labelling and managing stakeholders expectations.

Ability to comfortably work at all levels within the business with a commitment to continuous improvement.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Advise on delivery using most appropriate method of transport, taking into account any restrictions of the client, customs, and hazardous goods handling.
  • Take an active role to advise the various business areas and customers on the specific shipping requirements that will allow for a successful delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with international rules and regulations
  • Draw up all commercial invoices, packing lists, and any additional documents as appropriate.
  • Obtain Certificates of Origin and Conformity from suppliers to meet destination customs requirements.
  • Advise on the correct packing and labelling of hazardous materials (mainly lithium batteries). Make the correct declarations and draw up Dangerous Goods paperwork.
Proactively support the business to keep up with any changes in trade rules that will

  • Qualified with working knowledge of IATA and ADR regulations in relation to shipping products containing Lithium (Ion and operations

Personal specification:


  • Must have experience in a similar role.
  • Must have previous experience of import/export freight shipping and working knowledge of customs procedures.
  • Understanding of VAT rules would be advantageous.
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong administration and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Highly organised
  • Committed to continuous improvement and change management.

£26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
