The majority of the role will focus on supporting the Parliamentary and Public Affairs (PPA) team within the CSD to champion space through correspondence and parliamentary engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
The Support Officer will support the directorate in delivering its objectives.
The position holder should expect the majority of their time (75%) to be spent supporting the PPA team with correspondence, and the remainder (25%) on the provision of wider CSD support and in their role as directorate Digital Champion.
With support and guidance, the post holder will:
Correspondence:
- Coordinate and draft responses to public enquiries, Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information requests on behalf of UK Space Agency, coordinating with policy teams where necessary.
- Build and maintain an active network across the UK Space Agency to facilitate the timely and efficient delivery of correspondence to policy teams for their comment and review.
- Lead on correspondence tracking by using eCase, our correspondence case management system, to monitor and report metrics.
- Lead on the development and improvement that will streamline on the PPA team's ways of working through, but not limited to monitoring the mailbox and eCase management.
CSD Digital Champion:
- Act as the Digital Champion for the UKSA CSD, acting as the first point of contact for all digital ways of working.
- Provide ongoing, highquality advice and support for CSD teams when they face issues related to SharePoint and other digital working tools.
- Be responsible for keeping the PPA team's folder structure on SharePoint under review to ensure it remains secure and functional.
CSD support:
- Ad hoc support for the different teams in the CSD with full training and support given.
Due to the scope and nature of the role the postholder will be expected to work largely autonomously, managing their own time to ensure that objectives and targets are met.

Desirable Experience:
- Previous relevant experience in drafting correspondence, managing mailboxes and building networks either within or outside government.
