I am currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Housing provider in the Southwest for 2x Regional Building Surveyors on a temporary basis this is a remote role,
Both roles will be regional with the requirement to visit the office in Weston one day a week.
Patch 1x North Est Bristol, Gloucester
Patch 2 Taunton Deane, Sedgemoor, and West Somerset
Hourly rate £27.66ph umbrella
Summary of the role,
The Regional Building Surveyor role is responsible for the strategic overview of the regional housing stock to facilitate the effective maintenance of the companies growing housing portfolio
Responsibility

  • Provide detailed resolutions and project management in respect of complex repairs and issues relating to our properties, considering customer requirements, value for money and other factors
  • Provide an informed surveying role with an acquired insight of the detailed knowledge of the housing stock working in close liaison with other departments.
  • Ensure liaison with customers, clients and external agencies involved within specified projects, providing technical advice and guidance to both colleagues and customers as required. Undertake site visits to monitor works.
  • Work with contractors to provide an effective repairs and maintenance service.
Experience, knowledge, and skills.

  • Extensive domestic dwelling experience from a technical management perspective, demonstrating understanding of the built environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of health and safety legislation pertaining to management of housing and the construction industry including CDM.
  • You are expected to work within the guidance set out in policies and that you comply with the confidential nature of some processes in line with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018. Confidentiality can only be maintained when someone is not at risk.
Any child protection or vulnerable adult concerns should be reported to the line manager immediately. V2 June 202- Good level of knowledge of building diagnosis and fault-finding experience.

  • Knowledge of letting and project management of contracts and service providers, including developing formal specifications, contracts and technical information and managing health & safety. Excellent building surveying and communication skills.
  • Experience using IT systems effectively including MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience working at a similar level within an RSL, local or public authority, or private practice, involved in the asset management and surveying function.
Professional qualifications

  • Educated to HND/HNC level or equivalent in a relevant field. (D)
  • CIOB/CIH/RICS equivalent qualification in related property surveying. (D)
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy
