What's the role all about?
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced

Buyer to join our Procurement team. With an ambitious order book ahead of us we are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and support us to quantify, procure and schedule a range of products, materials and services from our approved vendors to be used to meet the engineering, manufacturing and construction programme at the most economical rate.
As our

Buyer you will be involved in:

  • Sourcing activity for products, materials and services as well as negotiating pricing/contractual terms/rebates with suppliers
  • Onboarding new suppliers in accordance with our procurement policies and procedures
  • Logging and updating incoming work onto our action registers whilst filing completed procurement activities electronically on the company's filling structure
  • Reporting commercial and operational outcomes on the departments live reporting system
  • Building supplier relationships, whilst supporting on tendering for existing and new business
  • Creating high quality RFQ's and perform bid analysis resulting in the placement of orders with the most competitive complaint vendor
  • Work with the Purchasing Manager on vendor contract & supply performance management
  • Maintaining and updating our Procurement CSR & supplier risk management documentation to support longer term planning and vendor management
  • Produce accurate purchase orders and ensure that that our teams fully understand how to use our procurement procedures and digital tools.

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally working towards CIPS qualifications, with a purchasing background in the construction industry
  • Reasonable level of experience using ERP/Purchase to Pay purchasing systems and Microsoft Office programs
  • Sound negotiator with a reliable commercial acumen who can influence and build solid relationships with people
  • Engaging communicator who can articulate themselves clearly
  • Can demonstrate a strong work ethic, is selfmotivated and resilient
  • Works well using their own initiative and pays attention to detail
  • Commitment to completing deadline driven tasks and meeting the needs of the customer
  • Enthusiastic team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team and wider business
