An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Assistant to contribute to a project focused on evaluating the role of Community Link Workers in Edinburgh.


Community Link Workers support people that have been referred by GPs or other staff to provide one to one support such as financial issues, housing problems, anxiety and stress, isolation or loneliness.

Link Workers connect people with local support and services, community groups and activities.

A Link Worker's support can enable people to set goals and overcome barriers so that they can take greater control of their health and wellbeing.

They also work to address health inequalities created by deprivation, protected characteristics, geography and demographics.


The post involves a survey formulation and completing up to 30 structured interviews with professional staff involved in the delivery of Link Worker services in Edinburgh.


The post will involve collaborating with academic and clinical colleagues across multi-disciplinary areas, in close collaboration with the Edinburgh Health and Social Care partnership and based at Queen Margaret University.

Supervision is provided by experienced researchers at Queen Margaret University.


The role holder will provide support and assistance to a research team/project by undertaking a variety of tasks including interviews, surveys, literature reviews and analysis.

The role holder will be responsible for planning their own workload and be expected to contribute positively as a team member; the role holder will be expected to exercise their own judgement and initiative when dealing with problems.
