Monday to Thursday: 07:15 -16:15 / Friday: 07:1- 12:15

Our operation based in Ferndown has an exciting opportunity for a Sheet Metal Worker where you will support the site with maintaining high standards of production on site.
You will be joining a fantastic team who will guide you when needed, work closely with you on driving continuous improvement activities & support your continued learning & development.
Reporting to the Production Manager:
- Ability to read drawings / specifications
- Working to customer specifications
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff or smooth surfaces, seams or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools.
- Shape metal material over blocks or other forms, using hand tools.
- Lay out, measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on material in accordance with the drawing or template, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares and rulers
- Fabricate or alter parts using shears, hammers, punches or drills.
- Safe use of hand tools
- Safe use of guillotine, band saw and pedestal drills
- Ability to cut materials to size
- Completion of job cards
- Use of general measuring equipment
- General manual handling and moving materials safely
- Safe handling of components, jigs and fixtures
- Maintain equipment, making repairs or modifications when necessary
- Working on own initiative
- Operate heavy machinery
- You will manufacture various sheet metal products to good quality within safety requirements.
- Adhering to high standards of precision, you will interpret engineering drawings, shape sheet metal, and assemble welded components.
Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years sheet metal standards
- Ability to work from detail
- Ability to work under own initiative making recommendations for improvements as appropriate;
- Welding/fabrication experience
- Basic IT knowledge
- Housekeeping and 6S
