Description

Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor, this role is on our night shift - 40 hours per week, 9.05pm to 6.05am (Monday to Thursday) 9.05pm - 3.05am (Friday).

The main function of the Manufacturing Setter/Operator position is to correctly set and operate multi station heading machinery, which produce high quality, premium fasteners.

A flexible and responsive approach is essential, together with the ability to effectively problem solve and identify areas where improvements can be made to existing processes and methods.


_Specific Responsibilities _

  • Operating and setting of Multi Station Heading machines.
  • Operating and setting of Rolling machinery.
  • Operating and setting of Induction heater.
  • Using measuring equipment.
  • Identify and perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Read graphs, charts and technical drawings.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within Cell area together with other Cell Members, keep area free from oil and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Fork Lift truck operation and or crane usage, in accordance with legislation and company safety regulations.
  • Undertake SPC (Statistical Process Control), in accordance with company requirements and Quality Manager instruction.
  • Understand and comply with the company's EHS and quality procedures.
  • Input into the Cell Operation as a team member; working to best practice. Offer suggestions where appropriate to improve EHS, working methods and towards developing a continuous improvement environment.
  • Use and knowledge of excel software to book work via back wall computer.

Experience & Background .

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems of a technical or mechanical nature.
  • Experience of setting and operating technical machinery.
  • Experience of working to BSI quality standards.
  • Excellent attendance history.

Shift Pattern

Level 2 qualification in technical discipline desirable.
