Your Duties:

  • Responsible for cleaning floors, furniture, fixtures, fittings, glassware, high and low level surfaces and sanitary ware/areas within clinical and non-clinical areas
  • To carry out and complete assigned cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedules, frequencies and required quality standards for environmental cleanliness.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safe disposal/packaging of waste as per Trust policy, for example clinical waste, household waste and for transferring collected waste to designated disposal areas.
  • To organise own day-to-day work tasks in relation to cleaning as per the environmental cleanliness schedule for the assigned location/area under the direction of the supervisor or manager.
  • Responsible for observing and monitoring the condition of the environment you clean reporting any defects or other relevant issues to the supervisor or manager.
  • Provision, where applicable, of a range of catering related duties e.g. reheating meals, making toast, beverages, setting up and distributing to patients.
  • Laundering of Items including folding/packing clean laundry.

Your Profile:

  • The post holder will be provided with the necessary training to undertake the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • The post holder will be required to attend the Trust's Corporate Welcome Event in order to fulfil statutory and mandatory training requirements of the position.
  • The post holder will be required to attend and complete the Patient & Client Support Services Induction Programme and local Departmental Induction.
  • The post holder will be required to participate in and successfully complete the Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals Development Programme during the first 6 months of taking up post.
  • The post holder will be required to participate in and successfully complete the Basic Food Hygiene Certificate during the first 6 months of taking up post if not already obtained upon taking up post.

  • Muckamore Abbey Hospital.
  • Part-Time, Temporary (until June 2024).
  • Varying shifts 8am to 1pm or 4.30pm to 8.30pm or 2.30pm to 6.30pm or 2.30pm-8pm.
