CEG Digital wishes to engage the services of an Online Tutor for their MSc Psychology Conversion course run in partnership with Portsmouth Online.

Online Tutors play a central role in the day-to-day success and vibrancy of the university's online courses and are a consistent presence in the modules to which they are assigned and are usually the first point of contact for academic queries from students.

Each Online Tutor will have a group of up to 30 students.

This is a flexible, part-time role and flexibility is required in order to accommodate busy periods such as assessment.

Note that there will be key dates and contact points you will be required to adhere to which are driven by assessment dates in the course calendar.

Full details will be provided prior to the start of the module.

The Course

This exciting MSc conversion course has been developed to equip students with a wide range of specialist skills in a welcoming, flexible environment.

The course content includes the core principles of a range of perspectives within psychology, the ethical and sociocultural issues that are relevant to evaluating theories and research findings, and a range of skills for investigating experiences and behaviours.

Students will also have the opportunity to remotely access a range of specialist tools, learn how to carry out empirical studies and master how to analyse, present and evaluate quantitative and qualitative data as well as final research findings.

The Module

The Science of Psychology

This module is the first on the course and aims to provide students with the skills and contexts, both historical and contemporary, to begin their transition into the field of psychology.

Through discussion of different perspectives (such as behavioural, cognitive, clinical etc.) that dominate the field, students will develop an understanding of what it means to be a psychologist in current times and the impact psychologists have on our day-to-day lives.

This module also aims to equip students with the fundamental skills they'll need to conduct scientific research within psychology - which they will build on throughout their degree.

Brain, Mind and Cognition
