The role:


The Demand Planning Lead role is a new role identified as part of the Strategic Planning Transformation within Clinical Manufacturing & Supply (CM&S) and will report into the Planning Lead.

This business process leadership and change role is responsible for working across with the broader CM&S organisation and into R&D to develop & implement new demand planning processes and improve our demand planning capability to ensure we achieve our strategic vision and deliver product to patient.


This role will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and ensuring the performance of the demand planning processes as well as ensuring that the technology, people and process capability meets the need of the process now and in the future.

The Clinical Demand Planning BPO is responsible for all aspects of business process management and covers independent demand processes.


What you'll do:


  • Lead of a project to transform the clinical supply demand planning process spanning from R&D into CM&S to improve independent demand accuracy in accordance with the standard project and change management frameworks.
  • Influence and clearly communicate the business value of the improvement project across CM&S, R&D and any other relevant stakeholders and demonstrate delivery of benefits
  • Working with IT and digital groups, develop & digitise our demand planning processes partnering with R&D and across CM&S.
  • Develop and implement an optimum demand planning operating model in CM&S
  • Drive implementation of the project proposals to timelines agreed with key stakeholders
  • Develop the people and process capability
  • Establish & lead an effective business process network, with subprocess owners/process champions
  • Improve people capability, providing training materials, expert advice and coaching working with CM&S training role(s) to rollout appropriate training
  • Document the process to appropriate level of detail driving simplification of processes and removal of waste
  • Define KPIs; monitor, improve and drive adherence to the business process
  • Manage business process links with related processes
  • Manage any supporting systems (with System Owner)

Essential skills & experience:


  • Extensive prior experience in Demand Planning ideally in a clinical supply setting
  • Supply Chain experience, knowledge of clinical trials and experience working with Clinical
  • Proven project delivery
  • Experience of operating in a global environment and leading strategic projects and initiatives across multiple sites/teams
  • Strong influencing skills, excellent communication and team working skills
  • Experience in training teams and individuals

Desirable

  • Extensive Clinical Supply Chain knowledge, across multiple roles/functions
  • Lean & Business Process Management experience
  • Project management skills
  • Advanced IT and analytical skills
