We have two roles that cover administrative duties across the Skills group


This includes:

  • Personal Assistant to a Director and Deputy Director in a high profile area and key priority for the Prime Minister.
  • Directorate Support Team Executive Officer will work across two directorates and support the current Directorate Support Team.
  • Industry Training Board Executive Officer will join the Industry Training Board team.


Both roles require excellent communication skills, the ability to manage upwards and confidence in advising senior leaders would be desirable.

The post holder will focus on working flexibly to ensure the smooth running of their team and support with a desire to develop and work together as a team player to deliver successfully.


Job description:

You will be handling and updating confidential information and creating/updating appropriate data systems, in a confidential manner.

Taking ownership of specific requests from your Director or team leader, ensuring they are delivered on time and to a high quality.

You will complete a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship alongside this position.


The apprenticeship:

As this role includes completion of the Business Administration (level 3) please check the eligibility requirements below using the apprenticeship standard: Business Administration (level 3)

  • You must have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date and not be undertaking another apprenticeship at the same time.
  • You must not already have a substantial amount of the skills and knowledge that is covered in the contents of the apprenticeship standard.
  • You must not have already worked in a similar role, or your previous learning, and/or work experience covers the contents (Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours) of the apprenticeship standard.
  • You already have all the skills and knowledge that is covered in the contents of the apprenticeship standard.
  • You have already worked in a similar role, or your previous learning, and/or work experience covers the contents (Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours) of the apprenticeship standard.
  • Part of this apprenticeship is to complete a level 2 English and maths functional skills qualification. If you have already achieved GCSEs in English and maths at Level 4 (grade C) or equivalent or a higher grade, you will not need to complete the functional skills qualification.
At the enrolment state, the individual's eligibility will be checked by the training provider.


Person specification:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will need the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities, maintain and update data and produce accurate reports.


Essential Criteria

  • Highly selfmotivated, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and organisation skills, able to work flexibly to manage competing priorities.
  • High attention to detail and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

Desirable Criteria

  • Understanding of financial and recruitment processes.
  • Ability to manage and confidence to advise upwards to senior leaders.
Desirable criteria will only be assessed in the event of a tie break situation to make an informed decision.
