MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER


Blueprint Recruitment are looking to speak with Mechanical Design Engineers to join a global architecture, engineering consultancy in Southampton on a long term Healthcare project.


My client provide a full range of professional multi-disciplinary services, including sustainable solutions across Buildings, Transport, Energy, Environment & Health, Water, Architecture and Landscape.


Your key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed designs in-line with client requirements
  • Managing your own project work
  • Manage time on projects to suit deadlines and complete your assigned tasks as stipulated by project manager
  • Carrying out mechanical design calculations using relevant software
  • Conducting feasibility studies
  • Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design
  • Providing technical support and advice
  • Providing statements and reports as required
  • Assisting with the development of junior team members

Essential skills, experience and attributes:


  • Excellent understanding and experience using relevant software, including Hevacomp
  • Good working knowledge of building design
  • Experience in Healthcare/Biopharma/Pharmaceutical sectors
  • Strong technical abilities
  • Demonstrate competence in tools such as MagiCad, IES and Revit
  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations
  • Be forward thinking and passionate about digital design innovation and 'smart design' in an increasingly digitalised construction arena
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritise workloads
  • Previous experience working in the Building Services sector
