Senior Events Officer
We are seeking a full-time Senior Events Officer who is an experienced event professional.


The Senior Events Officer will work across the organisation to deliver a dynamic annual programme of online and in-person events, including parliamentary receptions, award ceremonies, academic conferences, membership networking meetings, and student careers days.

£34,523 to £40,091 pa (dependent upon experience)

About the role:

The Senior Events Officer is responsible for managing the delivery of Society-wide events, leading external client events, and overseeing volunteer committee-led events


As Senior Events Officer, you will be:

  • Responsible for leading and supporting the delivery of in-person and online events
  • Line managing staff, supporting their training and development to deliver highquality events.
  • Managing and supporting 16 UK and two international volunteer committees with online and local event delivery
  • Working with staff in the public affairs and communications department to promote events to a range of audiences.
  • Leading the events sponsorship strategy and generate event sponsorship in line with core business objectives.
  • Overseeing all event logistics and providing ontheday support to ensure smooth delivery for RSB members and the public.

About you
This role would suit someone with demonstrable experience in events management processes

  • Willingness to take sole responsibility for leading particular projects
  • Ability to command the confidence of people at all levels of seniority
  • Selforganisation and management of several tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Understanding of financial processes and budget management
  • Capability to recognise personal strengths and weaknesses
  • Successfully managing and delivering events on time and within budget
  • Supporting and coaching staff
  • Experience in working with volunteers and committees
  • Writing and editing engaging copy
