Construction Director - Residential Developer

Reading

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly reputable residential developer who are looking for a Contracts Manager wanting a step up and who has experience of managing multiple traditional build developments across Berkshire and Surrey.
Typically, these developments will consist of lowrise apartments and traditionally built houses of 6070 units. Sites will be a combination of refurbishment of preexisting building to their new residential use, as well as the development of new build residential accommodation.
Your fundamental responsibility in this role is ensuring you drive equality, health and safety, production in line with build programme and performance.
Other responsibilities include:
Helping to compile a suitable list of subcontractors for tender, monitor performance and liaise with the Commercial department to ensure sites start on the agreed dates.
Support and provide dates for build and sales meetings to ensure the programmes are developed accurately in accordance to legal completions and are achieved within the planned time frame
Monitor site performance in line with the build programme and address any issues causing delays
Ensure that NHBC and Building Regulation standards and guidelines and ensure plots achieve the highest standard of quality
Help to compile a suitable list of subcontractors for tender, monitor performance and liaise with the Commercial department to ensure sites start on the agreed dates.
To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
Comprehensive knowledge across all aspects of construction and housebuilding and knowledge of current legislative requirements in regards to NHBC requirements, Building Regulations and Health and Safety
Experience in managing Site Managers across multiple sites simultaneously, preferably with the majority being residential developments
Experience in collating information from multiple departments to build construction programmes
Excellent supervision in regards to ensuring build targets and budgets are met by the site management team, management of contractors and tradesmen in order to forecast and effective delivery of plots
