To be the public face of Cheshire East Highways, answering enquiries and requests for service, engaging with the local community particularly parish and town councils to understand issues of local importance. To identify and order highway maintenance works in accordance with policy, contract requirements and the business plan. To work as part of a team in order to achieve a high level of customer service, to ensure that the highway network is safe for all users and to contribute to the company's overall business objectives.

The Role

Receive enquiries and requests for service for a geographical area of the borough. Carry out inspections and investigations as required in order to determine the appropriate response or action required.

Consider options and provide appropriate outcome for each enquiry in accordance with current policies, strategies, business plan and customer journey

Meet with customers on site to discuss highway maintenance or highway related matters. Conduct such meetings in a courteous manner and explain any technical issues clearly. Manage expectations but consider what action might be appropriate, balanced with policy and budget considerations

:

Develop and maintain relationships with town and parish councils and other community groups

:

-
Identify additional information / activities / systems needed to support service delivery / promote the service area. Ensure the design, development and implementation of solutions to deliver these.

Job Description

About You
***-
A full UK driving licence is essential

:

HNC in Construction or equivalent (desirable)

:

-
Excellent verbal and good written communication skills are essential

:

Good IT skills are essential, particularly MS Office and GIS systems desirable

:

Experience of dealing with service users, sometimes difficult or angry, in a face to face environment, by telephone and in writing essential

:

-
Experience of highway maintenance methods and techniques and ability to problem solve to find appropriate engineering solutions essential
