Description
The Adecco Public Sector Team have been engaged to source an Interim Head of Commercial for a government organisation.

This is a contract role for 12 months, and the day rate is up to £700 a day inside IR35.


This organisation's Commercial Team is looking to appoint a Head of Commercial to meet the evolving needs of the Department.

The Commercial Team provide expert commercial support, advice, and delivery. It is a hugely exciting time to be joining this team.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Act as a key member of the Commercial Management Team, responsible for the strategy and operation of the Commercial profession within the department, and an ambassador for the commercial function
  • Be responsible for wholelife commercial activity (from commercial strategy to contract exit) for a specific customer group maximising the commercial impact towards the achievement of strategic priorities, and providing oversight and challenge
  • Manage commercial risk appropriately and strive to maximise commercial opportunities
  • Line management responsibilities, supporting and developing the needs of immediate team and wider commercial colleagues
  • Develop, maintain, and manage pipeline of activity for your customer group and prioritise resources
  • Leverage Shared Service Centre delivery channelling work between the inhouse team and the shared service centre
  • Be responsible for maintaining the quality of commercial advice (i.e. from commercial strategy to contract exit) both directly and through others
  • Work collaboratively with finance, project delivery and commercial legal to offer a seamless and integrated corporate service offering
  • Build trusted relationships to ensure the commercial team is engaged early and throughout the commercial cycle working collaboratively with the programme/policy teams
  • Develop a strong and integral interface between the programme/businesses and the Commercial team
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a consistent service offering across core department
  • Deliver cashable savings and other financial/nonfinancial benefits
  • Create an inclusive culture and a working environment where the diverse skills and talents of all are recognised, developed, and valued and champion the Departmental Diversity & Inclusion Action Plan, ensuring it is embedded into the team culture
  • Promote and implement the best practices of the Outsourcing Playbook
