HR CONSULTANT
'HR with a difference' - The HR Dept provides outsourced HR support to a range of businesses throughout the UK. Our clients operate in various business sectors including financial services, hospitality, technology, property, professional services and not for profit. We offer a full HR service offering with a major focus on employee relations issues (disciplines, grievances, redundancies), performance management, recruitment, training, and development.

Location:
Office based in Swindon with occasional travel to client sites
Salary:
£40 - 45K DOE
Hours:
Mon - Fri 9:00 - 17:30
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The HR Consultant is responsible for delivering high quality and commercial HR advice and support to clients. They will also provide consultancy, project or onsite support to clients. The HR Consultant deputises for the Head of HR Consulting.
Main responsibilities:
HR Service Delivery:
- Delivering HR Dept services, ensuring accurate, timely and commercial advice/ support for clients.
- Creating and issuing documents that supports the specialist advice provided to clients.
- Assisting clients on site with a range of activities including redundancy programmes, employee relations issues and TUPE matters.
- Chairing or supporting formal meetings on behalf of clients.
- Preparing and checking client payrolls.
- Delivering training to clients.
- Creating, updating and checking client policies, procedures, and handbooks to ensure compliance with employment law and good HR practice.
- Recording all work undertaken on timesheets.
- Updating the monthly billing spreadsheet to ensure the timely invoicing of additional work undertaken for clients.
- Compliance with Company governance procedures
- Other duties as per client and HR Dept requirements.
Business Relations and Development:
- Supporting and checking commercial client administration including new client documentation and renewal documentation (HR Agreements, insurance forms and schedules and direct debit forms).
- Arranging and attending regular review meetings with clients.
- Identifying new business opportunities with existing clients (such as recruitment, additional project or site work, pulse, and staff surveys).
- Attending new client meetings and supporting the new client onboarding process.
Team Management:
- Supervising HR Advisors in the absence of the Head of HR Consulting.
- Providing mentoring support to the HR Advisors.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Experience and knowledge
- Strong ability and experience in managing all ER complex casework
- Strong experience of casework management: disciplinary, grievance, performance, attendance and wellbeing, conduct and general managing performance.
- Commercially aware of small business needs
- Experience with supervison of other team members
Qualifications
- Graduate Calibre
- CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing to a wide range of audiences and across organisational boundaries and levels.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to analyse decisions that will impact on people and HR policy.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to organise own workload to meet targets and deadlines.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent
