Year 4 Teaching Assistant, Burnley
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Teaching Assistant with experience in key stage 2.

The Head Teacher of a primary school in Burnley is looking to appoint a new member of support staff to join their KS2 team from February 2023.

Therole is full-time (Mon-Fri, 08:30 - 15:30) and is long-term with the potential of a permanent school contract.

The primary school is larger than average and is Ofsted graded 'GOOD'.

The school celebrates that every child is unique and acknowledges that every child deserves the opportunity to be happy, feel valued and experience success.

The proportion of pupils knownto be eligible for the pupil premium is above the national average, as is the proportion of pupils with special educational needs.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering tailored learning activities and providing learning support to individuals and small groups of children across the curriculum
  • Engaging, motivating and encouraging learners
  • Supporting children's social and emotional development
  • Assisting the Class Teacher in managing behaviour
  • Effectively feeding back
  • Record keeping and administrative tasks, such a preparing resources
  • Creating classroom displays
  • Attending meetings and contributing to the extracurricular opportunities provided by the school

Requirements:


  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
  • Recent, successful teaching assistant experience (Year 6)
  • Proactive, hardworking and committed to making a positive impact

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
