An exciting and rare opportunity to work within the UK Music Industry, we are looking for an experienced Corporate Secretary to join us to manage the ongoing administration and governance across the MPA Group of Companies.


An exciting and rare opportunity to work within the UK Music Industry, we are looking for an experienced Corporate Secretary to join us to manage the ongoing administration and governance across the MPA Group of Companies.


About the Role


Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Corporate Secretary plays an integral role in the day-to-day operation and governance of the MPA group of Companies, including in the planning, scheduling, and recording of all board meetings; overseeing board elections and ensuring governance procedures are maintained; and supporting the overall business in its Health & Safety and Risk Management measures.


Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the administration for the Board and various Committees, including scheduling meetings, collating agendas, and liaising with members.
  • Minute taking for all Board and Committee meetings, in all cases drafting them promptly, detailing clear action points and distributing to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the Chief Operating Officer to develop, implement and communicate governance, risk management and compliance policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Taking responsibility for Health & Safety and office management across the organisation, ensuring appropriate policies are in place.

About you


Whilst previous experience within the Music Industry would be valued, we are keen to attract applicants from any sector and background.

We would like you to be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience, and qualities:


  • An interest in or knowledge of company law and/or governance.
  • Efficient and experienced in the role and responsibilities of multiple meeting coordination, minute taking, paper organisation and personnel support
  • Organised, flexible and proactive; able to multitask and demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Articulate and able to liaise and influence at all levels within the team, with Board Directors and external contacts ranging from service providers to politicians and Heads of Business.
  • Can write clearly and concisely.
  • Calm under pressure, approachable and pragmatic, able to motivate and be a central point of stability and support for the team.
  • Must always maintain confidentiality.
  • Qualified or studying for a qualification with The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland is preferable
  • Familiarity with interindustry relations is desirable.
  • Computer proficient (MS Office suite particularly).
