Position Overview:
Wood is recruiting for Platers for an upcoming onshore shutdown at PRAX Lindsey Oil Refinery.
As a Plater, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of equipment and facilities during the onshore shutdown.
You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals to inspect, repair, and fabricate various metal components, ensuring that they meet industry standards and client specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Perform plating and welding tasks on a variety of structural components.
Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Conduct inspections to identify defects and areas requiring repair.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and industry standards.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete tasks efficiently.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Plater in an industrial or construction setting.
Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications or qualifications are a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications/Training Essential:
4 Year Apprenticeships or Level 2 NVQ equivalent
City and Guilds (C&G) Steelwork / Shipbuilding Craft and / or NVQ Level 3 in related trade.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members
