About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Leaving Care Personal Advisor within our Through Care 14+ Team. This role involves working with young people aged 16-25 to support them with their pathway to successfully live independently.

You will work within a supportive team to aid young people in accessing education, training, employment, suitable accommodation and a range of other things to support them in achieving their goals.


About you:


You will have:

  • A passion for working with disadvantaged young people
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of legislation around Children Looked After and Care Leavers is desirable.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to network and work collaboratively with multiagency partners.

What you will do:


You will:

  • Work with young people in developing Pathway Plans that focus on their identified goals and outcomes and identify any steps required to achieve them.
  • Manage a case load of young people who are both preparing to and have left local authority care.
  • Ensure that risks are assessed and balanced in a way that promotes the independence of young people, working with multiagency partners to achieve positive outcomes for them in line with their Pathway Plan.
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance to enhance your ability to carry out your role. This may include housing, benefits, education, criminal justice, home office legislation and others beside.
