OFFSHORE WIND CABLE INSPECTORS WANTED

Offshore Aberdeen

Relevant trade and offshore safety certs required.
Scope (but not limited to)
- offshore cable inspectors are required to work on 1 of 2 Vessels providing monitoring and QC supervisory experience on the test and terminations workscopes.
- Inspection and verification (as per Procedure / ITP markup) of all Cable Installation activities on the WTG Substructures / Offshore Substation Platform (OSP) to ensure works are to a high standard and in strict accordance with project procedures and defined acceptance criteria
- Quality check of QC outputs and records (I-Auditor + Test Reports) prior to Engineering acceptance
- Leads walkdown inspections and reporting using project checklist and tools (I-Auditor)
- Identification reporting and resolution of snag / punchlist items ensuring these are addressed in a timely manner by subcontractor and escalated to the project engineer as required.
- Quality representation at vessel meetings, proactive in the raising and management of all quality related matters through to resolution.
Qualifications
- GWO Basic Training
- Offshore Medical Certificate incl. Chester Step Test
- Experienced in Offshore Wind, all stages of HV submarine cable installation: cable pull in, termination and test activity including cable stripping, hang off installation, cable routing, cleating and FO & HV terminations.
- Experienced in QC of above e.g. sheath test, TDR, OTDR, IR, VLF/DAC and review / verification of associated test reports.
- Electrical Engineering
- HND (or equivalent) Electrical and Electronic Engineering or demonstrable experience
- Experience / Training in HV Cable Accessories Installation and Testing e.g. Pfisterer
- Previous experience in supervision and mentoring of Quality personnel within a team structure is desirable
- Strong knowledge of
Quality Standards:
ISO 9000 Series, ISO 10005, BE EN 1020- Strong working knowledge of relevant HV Codes and Standards including IEC 6050- Experienced Lead Auditor is desirable
