Corporate Tax Director / Business Tax Director (REMOTE WORKING role, or based in Reading)


McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with an International Tax Boutique who have seen vast growth over their three UK offices and are looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Director (compliance bias) for their growing team in Bristol.

The role wouldsuit a CTA Qualified or ACA Qualified tax specialist from a Top70 Firm or well-known Tax Boutique, or someone in Industry looking to return to a client-facing position.


Key duties include:

  • Manage ongoing relationships and delivery of Corporate Tax Operations for a group of accounts in respect of Direct Tax, Indirect Tax (VAT), and Payroll (PAYE & taxation of stock options) compliance
  • Primary point of contact for key client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Ensuring Service Level Agreements and KPIs as defined in client contracts are met or exceeded.
  • Ensuring all Corporate Tax work performed is invoiced on time and in line with client contracts.
  • With the relevant sector head and operational lead, prepare the annual budget for the Corporate Tax service line.
  • Maintaining tight control over the project schedule, risks, scope of work and budget; ensuring operational teams and subcontractors have a clear understanding of client requirements.
  • Ensure the team builds and maintains strong relationships with clients as well as other teams, and provides daytoday assistance, advice and support.
  • Promote the firm's capabilities to clients, identify new sales opportunities to be forwarded to relationship managers and achieve contract extensions or additional business
  • Work alongside Tax Advisory teams globally, ensuring appropriate processes are in place to manage operational tax risk and revenue opportunities


To be considered for the role you should ideally be CTA qualified (or equivalent) with relevant Corporate Tax Senior Manager or Director experience, ideally from a Top4-Top70 accounting or tax services firm.

You should be results-driven, able to work ina senior team managing multiple complex tax projects simultaneously, with detailed knowledge & working experience of Direct Tax in the UK across multiple sectors including Tech, Property/Real Estate and Capital Markets in various corporate, GP and LP structures.

Experience of leading a team which delivers technical direct and indirect tax services to clients is also required for this role.
