Description
We are seeking to appoint new colleagues to the Medical Directorate in Ayrshire & Arran. The posts are an important part of our ongoing development of medical services.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran has 2 acute hospital sites, University Hospital Crosshouse (UHC) and University Hospital Ayr (UHA).

The inpatient component of these posts will be based at UHC, with specialist work carried out on a pan-Ayrshire basis.

These new posts have been created in recognition of the increasing demand for care of acutely unwell adults requiring hospital admission alongside the pressures of delivering a responsive out-patient specialist renal service.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills and be committed to delivering high quality value based care.

This is an excellent opportunity to join NHS Ayrshire & Arran at an exciting time.

Our transformational Caring for Ayrshire programme aims to deliver Value Based Health and Social Care across Ayrshire, and the medical directorate has a unique opportunity to reconfigure services to achieve the very best outcomes for our population.

The post holders will be encouraged and supported to be actively involved in the ongoing development of services.

Duties of the post**The post holder will lead ward rounds and will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team, assisted by a team of medical staff who are a combination of rotating trainees from the West of Scotland training schemes, clinical development fellows, clinical teaching fellows and international medical graduates. The post holder will be expected to provide strong leadership and supervision for the doctors in training.

The duties of the renal component of the post will be discussed and agreed between the post holder, clinical lead and Associate Medical Director.
