Being a Healthcare Support Worker is a fantastic starting point in the NHS that provides a taste of what a career in healthcare is really like.
There are no set entry requirements to become a Healthcare Support Worker though a basic level of literacy and numeracy skills are expected, and a minimum of 6 months experience gained within the last 3 years in the care Sector is essential.
Allerton Ward are recruiting for a full time permanent Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker to join our caring, committed and inclusive team at Torbay Hospital working days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota.
This is a personally rewarding and fulfilled role as it presents the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by providing care in their time of need.
As Healthcare Support Worker you will look after a variety of patients with different health concerns, and will make a real difference to someone's quality of life
- Observing, monitoring and recording patients' conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight.
- Communicating with patients, relatives and carers, and assisting with clinical duties.
- Providing personal care including infection prevention and control, food, personal hygiene and overall reassurance, comfort and safety.
