The Pest Control Team sits within Camden's Public Protection Service and is responsible for keeping Camden's land and property free from pest infestation; you will be responsible for the identification of pests and the recommendation and delivery of appropriate pest control measures throughout the borough.


The role


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role and have a positive impact on the lives of Camden's citizens.

Delivering the Council's duties under the Public Health Act 1936 and the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949 and any other requirements, you will be part of a team of officers who act as a lead point of expertise on pest mitigation on behalf of the Council.

You will deliver the effective control of rodents, insects and other pests to reduce the impact of pests on the community.

The role will involve routine visits pest control visits to residential and commercial land and property in addition to working with other services in developing and delivering work programmes and projects to resolve specific pest and drainage issues


The role has a strong focus on customer service and developing and maintaining a vision for quality and continuous service delivery improvements to strive for and maintain a safe environment that is free from pest infestation so that Camden's citizens can live healthy and fulfilling lives.


About You


You will hold relevant specialist qualification/s in pest control such as Royal Society for Public Health Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management, British Pest Control Association Level 2 in Pest Management, or equivalent.


You will ideally have a minimum of 2 years residential pest control experience and a good knowledge/understanding of the legislative framework relevant to pests and drainage issues together with good observational and investigation skills (including identification of insects and other pests).


To succeed you will need excellent customer care and communication skills and be able to identify and secure the appropriate interventions in the investigation of service requests and other enquiries.


You will need record and report accurate data and information in relation to visits and assist in the preparation and writing of clear reports, specifications and other documentation relevant to legislation and service of notices.

You will have the ability to carry out inspections relevant to the work area, at times outside normal core working hours when needed
