Purpose of Post


To take a leading role in the delivery of a range of high quality, creative, play and social opportunities for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities and additional support needs, with a view to raising confidence, self-esteem and resilience, and to manage a group of well trained, enthusiastic Sessional Staff and Volunteers.


Contract Basis:
Casual


Hours:3hrs per session


Pay:
£11.55 ph

Session Delivery
To plan and run individual Play Alloa Sessions (as appropriate) in conjunction with the Senior Session Coordinator:

  • To provide a range of creative and inclusive play/social opportunities
  • To ensure a safe, secure and healthy environment
To have delegated responsibility for the management of Sessions, including:

  • Maintain consistent folders
  • Rotate toys and equipment
  • Ensure staff: SU ratios
  • Raise incidents and concerns
  • Manage session finances
  • Manage sessional staff and volunteers
  • Update risk: benefit assessments
  • Lead postsession reviews
  • Maintain Floor Books, session notice boards
  • Manage Deep Clean
  • Ensure Health & Safety incl. Food Hygiene, Fire Safety etc.

Service Development:


  • To introduce new service users to sessions
  • To liaise with families and Carers
  • To maintain personal information of new and existing service users eg. medical, contact details etc.

Staffing:


  • To manage staff during sessions
  • To manage volunteers/work experience/student placements during sessions
  • To record Staff disciplinary/grievance/concerns/incidents during sessions
  • To assist in the delivery of staff training as appropriate
  • To record and authorise staff holidays/sickness & other absence
  • To maintain adequate staff numbers for session delivery
  • To assist in the recruitment of new staff as required if requested
  • Shortlisting

Quality Assurance:


  • To complete regular internal QA system within Sessions
  • To update risk: benefit assessments as required
  • To ensure that activities are carried out within an equal opportunities framework
  • To ensure that activities are carried out within the playwork principles
  • To ensure that activities are carried out within Care Inspectorate/SSSC Guidelines
  • To ensure that all sessions adhere to statutory requirements

Job Types:

Part-time hours: 10 per week


Salary:
£11.55 per hour
