Role Purpose:


The Category Lead is accountable for strategy and planning for a Sourcing Category within Procurement, to deliver competitive advantage for HSBC through lifecycle value generation, demand management and innovation by bringing best in class people, processes and tools together to enable optimal commercial outcomes for the category at local, regional and global levels in their spend with suppliers.


The role holder will demonstrate deep category knowledge to create and continually review robust and forward-looking category plans and strategies that use the full range of supply and demand-side levers and will seek to identify new sourcing opportunities, assessing their relevance and potential value to the organisation.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with the Global Head of Workforce Sourcing and other Category Leads to deliver against the identified portfolio of initiatives.
  • Ensures a robust governance process is embedded within source to contract practices
  • Manage our key strategic supplier relationships with the appointed HSBC
  • Monitors buying channel compliance, for the business/function with whom they own the Procurement relationship and drives corrective action as necessary, both individually and via the Categories resource pool
Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Background in Consultancy and Non-Permanent Workforce.
  • Significant experience in leading, defining and executing complex transactions and deals across multiple categories of spend
  • The ability to manage senior stakeholders
  • Extensive knowledge of source to contract best practice gained across different industries and companies
  • A good understanding of post contractual activities including contract management and supplier relationship management
  • A robust understanding of the financial services industry, including key players, strategic requirements, and key risks facing financial services institutions
The base location for this role will be UK based with hybrid working
