Job description:


The General Qualifications Standards for Delivery and Performance team is responsible for monitoring how the exam boards secure timely delivery of high-quality, fair General Qualifications that students and users can rely on and take appropriate steps to protect students when delivery fails.


By working in the team, you will be part of regulation in action, using a wide range of tools to monitor exam boards' activities and the validity of their qualifications.

This could include everything from commissioning studies into the assessment functioning of live qualifications, understanding exam boards' operational systems and how they manage risks, to supporting discrete projects to deliver strategic priorities.


What will the post holder be doing?


This is an important role where you will work to an annual assessment cycle, with varied responsibilities and requiring an adaptable, positive, and proactive approach to problem solving.

You must be able to work collaboratively with internal experts and be comfortable building effective relationships with key external stakeholders (including a national exam board), to oversee and support the safe delivery of General Qualifications, and challenging (often upwards) when there are issues.


You will also have experience of using project management techniques to plan and lead discrete project work to support continuous improvement within the wider work of Ofqual and the sector.
