Job Introduction

Main Responsibilities
As an EPS Senior Consultant your day-to-day responsibilities will be varied, however it is expected that the following tasks will form the main responsibilities of this position:

  • Collecting and interpreting Desk-Based and Environmental Baseline Data;
  • Assisting colleagues at all levels with Project Management, including producing programmes, budgets and trackers;
  • Undertake initial reviews of technical reports and EIA documents;
  • Producing a variety of feasibility appraisals, environmental reports for planning, and be able to lead all stages of EIA including screening, scoping and preparation of the Environmental Statement (with support).
  • Communicating and Coordinating internal Delta-Simons teams and our approved subcontractors.
  • Undertaken an environmental related course or degree;
  • Has a minimum of 3 years hands on EIA coordination experience;
  • A passionate interest in the environment and/or sustainable development projects;
  • An excellent working knowledge of the UK EIA regulations and guidance;
  • A good understanding of the UK Planning system more generally;
  • Experience of a range of development types and sizes;
  • The ability to clearly simplify technical data, conclusions and recommendations and disseminate this to Clients, colleagues and members of the public;
  • Strong communication, organisational and time management skills;
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, with experience using a number of different software products including GIS, Microsoft Word/ Excel and outlook systems;
  • Reliable, pragmatic and able to work as part of a team and under own initiative
