    This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to our life-changing mission as a Senior Finance Officer (Contractor). You will play a key role in maintaining financial operations during a transitional period, ensuring continuity and excellence in our financial processes.

    About the Role

    You will be responsible for managing our financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, payroll administration, compliance and controls, and stakeholder communication. As a contractor, you will bring expertise, adaptability, and a solutions-focused approach to drive financial stability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Bookkeeping: Analyze and reconcile bank transactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage invoice processing, payment preparation, and the timely collection of receivables.
    • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Payroll Administration: Act as the primary liaison with our outsourced payroll provider and work with our People and Culture team to ensure accurate payroll processing.
    • Compliance and Controls: Maintain and support the implementation of internal financial controls and assist with reconciliations and audits.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Address queries from customers and suppliers promptly, maintaining strong working relationships.

    About You

    We are looking for a contractor who is:

    • A qualified or qualified by experience accountant (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) or significant relevant experience.
    • Experienced: Proven track record in delivering financial services in an interim or contractor capacity, ideally within the charity or not-for-profit sector.
    • Skilled: Proficient in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
    • Analytical and Independent: Capable of problem-solving with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
