Summary:
Our client, a large manufacturing business, based in Plymouth is looking for an experienced and professional Lean Manufacturing Engineer to reduce cost and improve delivery times whilst working to a high level of quality and H&S.
Main Duties:
- Working within your area to ensure smooth running of processes and ad hoc problem solving.
- To manage CI including cost analysis, including your own identification of process changes.
- Create a build sequence and establish SIC whilst keeping any changes updated.
- Manage the BOM changes and any alterations made throughout the process with all departments, including changes to production teams.
- Working in coordination with the development and design team with changes made.
- To develop and implement Jigs & Fixtures to support manufacturing and manage the quality of this.
- To control and design the Manufacturing layouts.
- Identify changes that can be made in future development of production.
- Attend daily, weekly and monthly meetings with Production and Management.
- Ensure Health, safety and Environment is a high priority at concept and design stages.
- Support with financial reviews to ensure build budgets are met.
- KPI's will consist of safety, cost, quality and delivery time, business improvement, efficiencies, waste management, hours and cost savings. With Projects
- Implementing HS&E, quality and overall equipment effectiveness.
- Work with external & internal suppliers and contractors.
- Financial effectiveness of waste with justification and validation.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant Manufacturing / Engineering qualifications
- HND, BTEC or NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
- Must have experience of Lean Techniques, including VSM, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, 5s, TPM, SMED.
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to train and motivate others whilst being supportive and encouraging.
- Strong Management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines and targets.
- Must have excellent Excel, word, PowerPoint and ideally MRP/ERP skills.
- Strong awareness of HS&E practices, polices and regulations.
