I have an opportunity for an
Operations Officer to join my client, a public sector organisation who are tasked with running a public inquiry.

This role is a contract basis.

The Offices and Public Hearings Venue are based in central Edinburgh.

The role is office-based, with two working patterns to be covered, hours and hours each day (including a break).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:***- Ensuring the Hearings Suite, and all associated equipment, is ready for use at all times, is maintained to a high standard and that the area is free from clutter and obstructions;

  • Manage webbased meetings using WebEx and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Operate the Hearing Room's audiovisual and document display systems in the public hearings and troubleshoot basic technical issues
  • Maintain a log of issues which occur during the delivery of Hearings and feed back to the Operations Manager
  • Assist in reviewing and, where applicable, creating and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure there are defined measures of control in line with ongoing business needs
  • Be responsible for Health & Safety activities and work with the building management team/landlord to ensure compliance with H&S regulations
  • Update and deliver H&S inductions and annual training
  • Undertake general administrative duties, such as, but not limited to, maintaining the shared mailbox and completing checklists

I would love to hear from you if you have experience in:

  • Excellent customer services skills with a proven background in facilities management or front of house services
  • IOSH Qualification or relevant professional experience
  • Experience working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels including senior management
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Experience carrying out Health & Safety audits/inspections
  • A strong knowledge towards fire safety legislation and best practice requirements
  • Proven experience of working under pressure and to tight timelines
  • Proven ability to prioritise own workload
