Description

Pyramid8 are working with a leading Scientific Company based in Sheffield to recruit an Embedded Systems Engineer to join their small production team.

They have recently opened up brand new offices on the outskirts of Sheffield.

Responsibilities

  • Development, testing, and implementation of embedded firmware for new hardware
  • Planning and implementing research and development project work
  • Construction and testing of prototype hardware modules
  • Recording and presenting data/results at weekly team meetings and wider company presentations
  • Liaising/working with other R&D team members within the Group to achieve objectives
  • Production of requisite QA documentation to support the ISO9001compliant development process
  • Supporting Production, Sales and Service departments and customers when required

Requirements:


  • Bachelors, Integrated Masters or MSc in physical sciences, electronic engineering, or embedded systems engineering
  • Firmware development experience for embedded microcontrollers in C; STM32 and PIC preferable
  • Familiarity with various communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Familiarity with realtime operating systems (FreeRTOS, ThreadX etc.)
  • Experience with git or other version control systems
  • Good understanding of physical measurement techniques and data analysis
  • Ability to liaise with technical suppliers (mechanical and electronic)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to keep to tight deadlines and good timekeeping
