About the role


Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy are looking to recruit a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, this role is a fixed term position and is in line with the child's needs.

The hours are 15 hours per week, working Monday to Friday mornings, these hours will be worked during the school term time.


You will work closely with a child who has an EHCP, you will support them with strategies to allow self-regulation, encourage independence, and adapt learning activities so they are able to access them.


Job requirements


Within this role you will also be working with and alongside a wide range of different professions all with the common goal of ensuring the best care and education is given to our children.


Good, clear and effective communication will play a key role in this position, you will need to work with and alongside the children, their families and other members of staff within the school.

You will have positive behaviour management skills, be flexible and able to work on your own initiative.


You will have experience of working with children who have profound and multiple learning disabilities or Autism, ideally, but not necessarily in an educational setting.

A relevant qualification would also be welcomed.


You will be enthusiastic and passionate about child development, play and interaction with knowledge on how you can develop this further to enhance children's experiences.
