Fully Remote Role

Immediate Start Required
As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing of a UK software-based solar product.

You will play a critical role in ensuring that the product meets high-quality standards and is free of defects before release.

Your main objective willbe to verify that the product meets the requirements of UK homeowners, businesses, and local communities, and to provide a simple and cost-effective solution for generating and monitoring solar energy usage.


The Role:


  • Design and execute software test plans to ensure the product meets customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop test cases and automated test scripts for different types of testing, including functional, performance, security, and regression testing.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing of the software to identify and resolve defects in the product.
  • Collaborate with the development team to ensure that software design and functionality meet customer needs.
  • Work with customer support team to respond to customer queries, feedback, and bug reports, and coordinate resolution of issues.
  • Continuously monitor product performance and identify areas for improvement to ensure high quality software.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to ensure that best practices are followed and quality is maintained.
  • Participate in project planning, tracking and progress reporting activities to ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and stakeholders.

Required Experience:


  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing.
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve software issues.
  • Extensive experience with various testing tools and technologies, such as Selenium, JIRA, and TestNG.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum, and the ability to work closely with development teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise feedback on software issues and to present test results to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of software development languages, such as Java, Python, and C++, and the ability to write basic code to automate testing processes.
  • Strong understanding of software quality assurance processes, including regression testing, functional testing, and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of software testing in cloudbased environments, including experience with AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with testing software on various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Familiarity with the energy industry and a passion for clean energy solutions.

Required Qualifications:


  • A Degree in Computer Science
  • Ideally experience in the Solar Sector
