An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Linux System Administrator to join a successful SAAS software company.

The company is based in Oxfordshire however, the Linux System Administrator can work 100% remotely.

This company is a market leader in their field, and their software is used by some of the biggest and most reputable Universities in the world


As the Linux System Administrator, you will be working with a small and friendly team, and you will have the opportunity to make a real difference.

My client, believes in a good work-life balance, offering full remote working and all of the team workingflexible hours.


Your role will primarily be to manage those servers and the services running on them and manage the health of the systems.

This will include instituting a fault management notification system.


You will need to have worked as a Linux systems administrator previously, and this should include a mixture of managing system patches, firewall admin, Apache web server, automation skills and threat mitigation.


Linux System Administrator - essential criteria:

  • A strong background in Linux and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with Linux system administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support experience.
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills specific to softwarerelated issues


Being a small company, the role will be varied and will include the need to understand our complex software products and provide some technical support.

My client is open for the Linux System Administrator to work either part-time or full-time.

As a full-timerole, this would be requiring more time spent on technical software support for the in-house low code configuration platform used by their customers, while maintaining the Linux system administration role.
