Emtec Building Services are a leading national contractor with a highly skilled in-house workforce of mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineers and much more. With a track record of delivering successful projects, we continue to deliver cutting edge solutions to exceed our client's needs and we are actively seeking a dynamic Electrical Estimator to join the team at our Head office in Uddingston.


The Role


This is an exciting role where you will play a crucial part in supporting business development initiatives for various opportunities, ranging from multi-site to stand alone contracts, predominantly in the electrical domain with values up to £10M.


  • Assist with the approvals process to ensuring strict adherence to company procedures.
  • Generate detailed analytical estimates within defined timelines.
  • Actively participate in the detailed risk assessment process on all bids
  • Ensure thorough reviews of all tenders by the Estimating Lead or Directors
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of outputs and pricing data.
  • Provide support in the production of bids across different parts of the business when necessary.
  • Take on the role of bid manager where required based on the value and complexity of the tender.
  • Undertake, oversee, and assist with the production and submission of estimates and tenders.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach in supporting the business development function in contributing innovative solutions.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an M&E setting
  • Expertise in preparing precise and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical systems.
  • Proficient in reading construction drawings and specifications.
  • In depth knowledge of electrical installations and construction methods
  • Ability to evaluate bids from subcontractors and clients.
  • Proficient in creating project budgets and cost plans.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft office package and estimation Software (i.e. Trimble)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
