Description

Are you passionate about the environment and want to work with a company who want to protect the planet and help create a circular economy?

Then this role is for you.

You will be working as a mobile recycling operative, predominantly at our Cobden Street facility but may, at times be required to work at other locations across the North West of Greater Manchester (Bury, Radcliffe and Bolton) so a driving licence is essential.

You will be working as part of a team tasked with engaging with site users, promoting recycling and re-use, whilst assisting with correct disposal points.

Customer service is an integral part of the role so any relevant training will be beneficial.

You will also be responsible for managing the cleanliness of the site, maintaining high standards and helping us meet our contractual obligations.

About the role

  • The shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off, working from 07:45 to 18:15 in the winter months (October to March) and 07:45 to 20:15 in the Summer months (April to September).

What will I be doing?

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player, who will be expected to join the current site team to ensure site operations exceed the standards required.

The role will involve:

  • Providing excellent levels of customer service.
  • Maintaining a tidy site within your areas of responsibility.
  • Advising and assisting the public on how to use the site in order to maximise recovery of materials deposited in the sites and divert waste from landfill.
  • Maintaining accurate records for the removal of materials from the site and other administrative duties as required.
  • Ensuring our business complies fully with its legal duties in respect of the health, safety and welfare of its employees and of other people who may be affected by your actions or omissions.

What are the requirements?

  • A flexible approach to work will be advantageous as you will be expected to cover holiday and sick days if required.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and customer service.
