Financial and Systems Accountant.

hybridworking position Monday to Friday with working hours
8.30am-5pm including a
1-hour lunch break.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Responsibility for performing the monthend duties and yearend close down of the financial ledgers (using SAP)
- Responsibility for monitoring monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, including preparation of certain reconciliations and the investigation and resolution of any issues
- Assisting the Finance Reporting Manager with the preparation of balance sheet reporting and forecasting
- Monitoring the effectiveness of processes and controls, and making recommendations for improvements where necessary
- Analysing and reporting data in order to inform decision making
- Reporting of monthly capital expenditure and variance to forecasts
- Creation and posting of specific monthly general ledger journals
- Producing yearend balance sheet schedules to support statutory accounts disclosures
- Assisting the Financial Services team with adhoc accounting projects
- Responsible for quarterly reporting of a small related charity
- Responsible for preparing certain statutory and regulatory returns
You will need to demonstrate:
- Proficient using Excel (using its analytical and modelling tools)
- Proficient using SAP (desirable)
- Experienced and confident in extracting data from, and adding/updating accounts records to, a complex ERP system
- Be able to analyse and interpret data to influence decision making
- Possess the organisational, planning and time management skills to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst delivering high quality work
- Be committed to your own personal and professional development
