Financial and Systems Accountant.

This is a
hybridworking position Monday to Friday with working hours
8.30am-5pm including a
1-hour lunch break.


Key duties and responsibilities:


  • Responsibility for performing the monthend duties and yearend close down of the financial ledgers (using SAP)
  • Responsibility for monitoring monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, including preparation of certain reconciliations and the investigation and resolution of any issues
  • Assisting the Finance Reporting Manager with the preparation of balance sheet reporting and forecasting
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of processes and controls, and making recommendations for improvements where necessary
  • Analysing and reporting data in order to inform decision making
  • Reporting of monthly capital expenditure and variance to forecasts
  • Creation and posting of specific monthly general ledger journals
  • Producing yearend balance sheet schedules to support statutory accounts disclosures
  • Assisting the Financial Services team with adhoc accounting projects
  • Responsible for quarterly reporting of a small related charity
  • Responsible for preparing certain statutory and regulatory returns

You will need to demonstrate:


  • Proficient using Excel (using its analytical and modelling tools)
  • Proficient using SAP (desirable)
  • Experienced and confident in extracting data from, and adding/updating accounts records to, a complex ERP system
  • Be able to analyse and interpret data to influence decision making
  • Possess the organisational, planning and time management skills to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst delivering high quality work
  • Be committed to your own personal and professional development
  • Data Analysis skills
