We are looking for an individual with a strong background in molecular biology techniques to join us as a Biobanking Specialists.

The Therapy Acceleration Laboratory (TAL) is an exciting new venture to establish a state-of-the-art laboratory to support national and international: Phase I, proof-of-concept experimental medicine clinical trials, through to registrational Phase III and precision medicine clinical trials.

The TAL will provide complex genetic, phenotypic and histological analyses of human patient samples.

You will perform manual, semi-automated, and fully automated laboratory investigations, interpret and record test results according to SOPs.

You will work closely with the section Leads and support running of the specialist sections including maintenance of the stocks of reagents, kits, and consumables, perform and record internal and external quality control and assurance testing.

You will hold a BSc/MSc in Haematology, Immunology, Clinical Chemistry, Cancer Biology or hold a Biomedical Scientist qualification.

You will have experience of working in a clinical research laboratory and a good understanding of health and safety protocols in a laboratory setting.

Experience of one or more of the following is essential:

handling and processing of biological samples; nucleic acid extraction techniques, PCR techniques, NGS library preparations; cell preparation, staining and analysis using multiparameter flow cytometry.

Ability to work out of normal working hours including some weekends is essential.

This position is available full-time fixed term till 31 August 2025.
