The Bset Connection are currently seeking a Accounting Assistant for a Manufacturer and distributing Company in the Bradford (BD5) area.

Hours of Work Mon to Fri 0800

Responsibilities of the Accounting Assistant

  • Dealing with all supplier account queries and keeping the ledgers reconciled and tidy.
  • Filing/retrieval of information
  • Inputting purchase invoices and credit notes on bespoke computerised Purchase Ledger, also checking delivery notes against invoices.
  • Chase missing receipts and delivery notes and deal with any outstanding discrepancies.
  • Print bank statements for all companies and post cash making sure the cashbook and bank account reconcile each day/month.
  • Print and send bank statements to credit control for customer cash allocations.
  • Chase missing invoices for the month end and ensure all the ledgers are reconciled.
  • Post and reconcile credit card transactions for month end.
  • Preparing and posting weekly wages journals.
  • Monthly balance sheets reconciliations.
  • Quarterly VAT returns.
  • Budget variance analysis.
  • Updating Fixed asset register
  • Assisting the finance manager with the preparation of the monthly MI Pack.

Requirements of the Accounting Assistant

  • Attention to detail.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Good accuracy and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work to target.
  • PC literate.
